How much should I charge for photographing my first wedding.?
I was asked to shoot a wedding next month. I have ZERO experience with weddings and most of the pictures I take are just for fun. I just recently got into photography so this whole experience is a bit overwhelming. I have no idea how much to charge. The woman getting married is a relative of a friend and she does not want a professional, she wants an amateur. In case location has any part in pricing, we are in NY. How much do I charge???
I can't give you an exact price, but I can offer things to consider. Charge enough to cover your expenses including travel and parking. Then add on an hourly fee, remembering you are doing this mostly for the experience and your fee should be in line with your level of experience. If this works out, then you can gradually raise your prices as you get more experience.
