Wedding Photography Lists Shots

wedding photography lists shots
How many wedding photos do I want?

I'm wondering how many wedding photos people typically have a photographer take. We only have the photographer for 2 hours, so we'll have him for the ceremony and then for about an hour after to do some formal shots, and we'll cut the cake early so we can get pics of that as well.

We had to work out a special deal with this photographer since we really can't afford photography. He sent us a list of the prices for each individual sized photo, and I would like one 4 x 6 copy of every photo, and then get some wallets and one large print to give out to friends and to display in our home. Since the cost is really dependent upon how many prints we want, I'm wondering how many pictures people usually take of the ceremony and then the formal shots right after? Like 30 pics? or 50? or 100? How many have you had?

In your situation, I would suggest making a list of the photos you know you want such as "the I do kiss", "the unity candle", and "the exchanging of rings" after you have a list of your must have photos that will give you a good idea of the total number you will need. As a wedding planner, I always try to be aware of a vairety of photo opportunities unique to each location such as a beautiful tree, sunset, or stained glass window.
Photos are such an important part of your wedding because they record the most accurate account of your special day! You will be so busy on your wedding day, you may miss some of the important factors that make up your big day, and your photos will be there to tell you that story long after your wedding day is over.

How to make sure wedding photography doesn't take over YOUR day!
