how do i create a sports package price list?

I am taking a wedding and event class for my photography major at school and we need to create a presentation for a mock client that wants to do little league pictures of the team. It needs to include the memory mate which is the picture of the team and the individual above the team photograph. What would be a good start on package prices?

This is not really a question that can be answered on the spot because it depends on the market in which you live, demand for your services and a number of other factors.

The first thing you need to do is a little research.

I suggest looking up other photographers in your area and making a list of the rates they charge for packages and novelty items like memory mates.

Assuming you will not be processing the photos or creating the gifts on your own, you will need to research companies that produce these sort of products from your photography work. Find out which companies have decent reputations but also offer some of the best values for you. A few companies that come to mind right away are Winkflash and Fotki.

Once you have all this info, determine what the cost to you will be to produce the items and decide how much of a profit you are willing to settle for.

Your best bet, in my opinion, would be to settle for a decent profit but still affordable enough to price yourself lower than your competitors.

Here's some examples:
Photographer 1 - charges $22 for memory mate package.
Photographer 2 - charges $17
Photographer 3 - charges $15

You find a company through which you can produce the package for $6.

You price your package at $12 making a decent, but not immense profit, and getting more business than your competitors because of your lower prices.
