Nikon Coolpix S80 - Touch Screen Digital Camera

Nikon has announced the release of the Coolpix S80, a Coolpix S-series model that incorporates advanced touch panel functions in a stylish design. The Nikon Cooplix S80 features a widescreen 3.5-inch electrostatic OLED touch panel with a wide viewing angle and uses the 14.1-megapixel sensor to take shots. Compared to the 288,000-dot monitor built into its predecessor, the S70, the Coolpix S80 monitor offers resolution increased to approximately 819,000-dots.

Nikon includes a 720p (1280 x 960 pixels) HD resolution movie mode and a stereo microphone - things that were completely missing from its predecessor. Performance of the Coolpix S80 has also been greatly increased for more natural operation with a more vivid monitor display and faster response to touch panel operations.

The Nikon S80 offers VR Image Stabilization and high sensitivity up to ISO 6400. The S80 has an ultra slim body with built-in optical 5x zoom NIKKOR lens. In practice, the dimensions of the Coolpix S80 will never become larger than when it is switched off. In a variety of colors – red, black, blue, pink, silver, and gold, the stylish Nikon Coolpix S80 is as beautiful as the pictures it takes.

To ensure consistently outstanding results, the Nikon Coolpix S80 processing engine is based on EXPEED C2, Nikon’s improved digital image processing engine. EXPEED C2 helps expand the possibilities of photography, offering improved levels of high image quality, fine detail and processing speed. Custom designed for the Nikon S80, the EXPEED C2 engine helps ensure outstanding photographs and videos of every scene you shoot.

With the Nikon Coolpix S80's intuitive touch screen, creativity is at the user's fingertips. The Nikon S80 lets users add their personal touch to photos with the Paint function, giving them the ability to draw or write or on images during playback. The Retouch Menu lets users easily adjust images in camera with the touch of a finger by choosing from a wide range of functions, including Soft Focus, Cross Screen, Color Options, Selective Color, Fish‐eye Effect and Miniature Effect. In playback mode, the user can even add moving stamps for an animated effect. In addition, the Coolpix S80 is equipped with a new rating function that allows users to rate their photos with up to five stars and sort images according to their rating.
