what is the best photography book for beginners?
I just bought the Nikon L120. I want to learn how to use everything and learn what everything means like ISO ect... keep in mind that the Nikon L120 is a bridge camera. So i dont want a book that talks about a ton of features for a SLR that I can't use... Would a photography for dummies book be good?
Most photography books warrant the use of a dSLR. That's because all the controls to make a photograph are in a dSLR. Aperture size, shutter speed, ISO, EV, white balance are all the same whatever camera you use, be it a $10 toy camera or a $42,000 Hasselblad. It's just the amount of control that varies. Your bridge camera has limited dSLR controls. It's basically the same only you'll have to work out much harder to reach those settings and those settings would have a much shorter range of values.
Yes. I love the Dummies series of references. You have to admit being one first though before even thinking of purchasing one of their books.
No. The dSLR doesn't have a ton of settings. Just read the first paragraph. Only those 5 controls are what every dSLR has.
