Recognised Photography Qualifications

May 30th, 2010 by admin

Wildlife photographer, how to?

Well, I'm currently wanting to become a wildlife photographer :]

I was wondering what qualifications I would need.
I'm currently in my first year of GCSE's, I'm doing English, maths, French, drama, art, geography, biology and chemistry...

Which of these would I need to get into a photography course, what grade would I need and would I need to go to A level (or higher) with any?

Do you think it would be hard to get recognised and do you know any wildlife photographers that would be willing to take a little about the career?
I would like a nice detailed paragraph about it, as I am interested in photography, animals and travelling :]

Many thanks!

You would have to create a port folio which you may have to start now and as a hobby so that you can show it to magazines, TV and publishers etc etc!!

You don't necessary have to have a photography certificate, you have to have the eye and skill that won't appear after taking a course you will have to have it all along!!

You have to do a lot of work of your own, you may have to do more than just wildlife work up to that. You may have to get involved in your school news paper or reports and local news paper. You will have to start at the bottom then work up, ask local wedding or news photographers for work experience!!
