Capturing The Splendor In Black And White Glamour Images

Although since its very birth Beauty Photography has undergone some serious changes, becoming colorful and digital, it still has a firm grasp of time-tested approaches to producing top quality glamour images - and black and white photography is perhaps the oldest and the most prospective of those. Rather frequently glamour images need some extra contrast which gives them elaborate and artistic touch; in order to achieve it, we glamour artists should apply the trusted technique of black and white photography, as it proves the most suitable for this task.

To put it plainly, the definition of contrast could be phrased as "the difference between two colors or shades"; and there are hardly any other colors apart from black and white that would possess such distinguishable and powerful contrast. Therefore, while shooting glamour images that require silhouettes or some kind of drama within the negative and positive spaces in the image, aspiring glamour photographers should try different shots in black and white or use features in some of the awesome softwares like Photoshop in manipulating in high contrast black and white.

When high contrast monochrome is mentioned, it simply means that the picture boils down to the magnificent duet of colors - black and white with little or no shades of grey. Use of high contrast in . Moreover, such glamour images are versatile and give the images edgy look. Being ambitious artists, you can either adjust your DSLR in order to shoot in monochrome or utilize various post-processing software like Photoshop. With the help of some Photoshop tools like Threshold Adjustment layer, you will easily be able to convert darker and lighter areas of the image into, accordingly, black and white. The only thing you will have to know before you start this process is that the technique works best if you have a light colored background, therefore, if your background is already dark, you might need to clean the background a little with a white brush for the best results.

As a glamour photographer, you have to make an informed decision on what mode is good for what kind of glamour images, but when it comes to images that require you to have a striking result with the use of shadows and silhouettes and if you want to create drama with the shadows and highlights you have within your image, black and white is the best option for you.
