Today owning a camera is no longer considered a precious item or something valuable. Every child now has a digital pocket size camera and it has become very common for people to have cameras just like we have the mobile phones.

The digital cameras work on a different technology plat form and they are easy to use without any manual intervention by the user. Every thing is automatic and requires you to just click on one button. These fully automatic cameras have self adjusting mechanism that sets the lenses, controls light and zooms and only requires you to aim and click.

Wondering what happens after shooting pictures? . The digital cameras have done away with film roles and save images as files that are downloaded on to the computer for viewing and saved. The images do not have to be printed on paper alone but is popularly being saved on media storage devices and in laptops, mobiles etc for instant retrieval.

Should we presume then that the technology has killed the magic, fun and art of shooting pictures with cameras? Many Photographers certainly seem to think so. Until a few years ago it was considered a fine art to be able to shoot pictures and required considerable knowledge and skill on part of the photographer to be able to capture the scene in its entirety and originality. People found it extremely satisfying to be able to put their techniques and efforts to use and exhibit their mastery by clicking good quality pictures. Now it seems as though the automatic cameras require you to only aim and click thereby have throw all the skills  of the photographers out of the window.

Photographers always believe that photo image is their language of romance with which they express their perceptions and words in visual appeal. Photographers hold their cameras close to their heart and almost worship it as their symbol with reverence. Buying a camera was once a lifetime event and buying different types of lenses required saving up money for over a year to be able to afford.  Photographers had to not only shoot the pictures on the roll, but develop the roll themselves in dark room and after doing color separation create the positives required for printing the photos. The manual dexterity involved in being able to develop the films and the color separation of positives on which depended the quality of photo prints, was what brought immense sense of achievement to the photographers.

Those who have seen the earliest camera boxes will be amused to recall those huge boxes with black hood with lenses and films on two ends. One can remember with great fondness the journey of the camera and photography from the black box to what it is today.

In current times the digital cameras do not require any film development, rather images are saved as files which can be viewed on PCs. The digital animation artists are trained on using different kinds of texture, light and filters on the images to produce the desired quality of image. They take off from where the photographers have left off. However this does not undermine the fact that it is the photographers keen sense of beauty that creates beautiful images. No technology can replace or takeover the art and passion of the photographers.

Of course the music is not exactly incidental either; Muse's full-on fifth...
