What Watt strobe light is sufficient for a home photography studio?
I am intending on setting up a photography studio in my garage so looking for equipment.
I have seen a package of 3 x 180W strobe lights in a set (soft-box, filters etc) for a fairly decent price.
At the same price, I have also seen 3 x 800W studio lights with stands but without anything else.
Are 180W bulbs sufficient or am I better getting the 800W bulbs?
Or should I get the set as its a good deal, and just buy 800W Halogen bulbs and switch them? (If this is possible)

The 180W lights are said to be "strobe lights" and the 800W lights are said to be "continuous light."
Are they completely different machines or could i use the strobe lights continuously without syncing them to a camera?
Matt, if you are only going to do still photography an no video I want to encourage you to get strobe lights, not hot lights. There is a reason they call halogen's hot lights, they are hot. Your poor models will hate them. To shoot at a low ISO you will need lots of light so that can get expensive.
Adorama has some 160 WS strobes for about 60-70 bucks each. Three of these with two shoot thru umbrellas, stands and a snoot for the back light will get you going well.
