Canon SD770IS Digital Camera
I got Canon SD770IS instead of PowerShot A95. A couple of years ago, I purchased a Digital Elph for my son and found myself using that compact and light digital camera, instead of my A95. Given progress in technology, it was time to upgrade.
The most crucial feature in looking for a substitute was small size and the use of a rechargeable battery. Resolution was less a factor as the A95, with only 5 Mpixels, created clear pictures. The most noted advance, even over the recent Elph, was in the increased speed of all functions including boot up and image recording.
Image quality is amazing and the color balance and metering is brilliant. If you now own a Canon digital camera and you are thinking of buying a new one, the basic navigation of characteristics remains primarily the same, so that will be common to you. Approach to the camera's shooting styles use menus instead than a physical dial as on the A95.
The screen is pretty large, well illuminated and easy to see, even in bright light. Finally, the most essential condition with digital photography should be picture quality and easiness of use. I have years of experience with non-automatic SLR film cameras and similar point and shoots, and this model fits perfectly for true "turn it on and shoot" photography. Images are crisp and vivid with solid detail and vibrant color.
The light meter performs well in measuring the settings and selecting the best possible combination of shutter speed and aperture.
A high capacity (SDHC) memory card will hold a insane number of photos even at the highest resolution. Uploading photos to a PC or Mac is smooth with either the supplied software or Apple's iPhoto package, which works seamlessly with the camera. I would recommend both a high capacity SD card and the optional leather case to protect the camera, particularly if dropped.
Canon SD770IS just blows me away. It makes brilliant pictures in full-auto mode. In situations where full-auto doesn't quite do the job as well as possible, this camera lets you change of ISO settings, white balance, focus method, and tons of other factors.
I highly recommend Canon SD770IS for someone looking for an easy-to-use, lightweight, little and impressive digital camera. It's just a superb camera at a good price.
