How do "reflectors" in photography work?
What's the point? How do the different color reflectors differ in a photo? are they beneficial enough to purchase? How do you use them?
[I'm working more on lighting with photography, I'm doing mostly outdoor portraits of people]
Reflectors are there to "bounce" light back onto the subject and light the shadow areas.
A gold reflector will give a "warmer" light, silver a harsher light and white will give a softer light.
You use them by setting up the reflector in a position to bounce the light back onto the part of the subject you want to give a boost to and usually on the opposite side to the main light.
