Can someone please review my NYU Tisch Photography portfolio? Do I have a good chance?
I applied to the NYU Tisch Photography/Imaging program for fall of 2011. I'm supposed to find out if I get in, in less than 3 weeks but I want to know what to expect beforehand. Please critique my portfolio. I'm very open to constructive criticism.
Only 30ish kids get accepted every year. DO I HAVE A GOOD CHANCE FOR THE PROGRAM?

I use a Canon 5D Mark II with a f/2.8L 24-70mm and a f/1.2L 50mm lens.
Several photos only rely on the shallow depth of field produced by the lens. One photo of some bloke standing under a lamp post has such ineffective light blur from passing traffic it looks more like a camera fault than an intended artistic effect. The coastal landscape is poor. I quite liked the auntie sitting on the floor in front of the laundry machines but don't see any reason for it to be in black and white. One photo is just a grainy blur.
I'm an unqualified, menial worker and people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones and all that, but I don't see any reason to expect you to get into something that relies on those images.
