does the canon eos elan II use infrared beams to line up the sprocket holes on the film for auto film advance?
or in other words, has anyone used the canon eos elan II for black and white (or color, for that matter) infrared photography? i was reading this article at kenrockwell.com http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/ir.htm and it said, "Most Canon film cameras do this, sorry," talking about the IR beams used in-camera.... any thoughts?
Yes it does, but it's not usually a problem.
I've used this camera with both Konica IR 720nm film and Ilford SFX film without issues. The fogging of the IR sensor is restricted to the area of the sprocket holes. Others have used different IR film.
