Event Photography lighting?
I am shooting and graduation ball for a friend. I have equipment but no experience with the lighting setup. I will be shooting on a sky blue back drop with full body shots and half body of couples and wondered where I set my lights and what to use. I have two 150w stobes with Umbrellas but may be soon be investing in two more strobes with softboxes.
I would like to know how many lights and what positions I set them in for this??
Many Thanks
Graduation balls only require nice, simple lighting - they won't be looking for anything more arty than that.
For that lighting setup I would use the two strobes with umbrellas, one placed camera left, and one placed camera right, pointing to the subjects like: / | where | is you.
You may want to do one strobe with a little less power to give a little definition to the faces, otherwise you may end up with very flat and boring lighting.
I hope this helps you.
