Lighting setup for Event Photography... ( Graduation Ball)?
(UK)
I have been asked to shoot a Graduation Ball later this year.... I have lighting equipment but am a novice to this. My question is what would I need? Laptop, sub dye printer and also my light setup to be able to take shots of two or more people. Is there a diagram anywhere on the net which shows the lighting setup?? I could do with as much info as posssible then I can get some practice with my setup at home..
To also make clear I am a novice with Event photography and a good friend has asked me to do this to save on costs...
Thanks,
yes it will be couples and also groups of people.... 5 max
Are you doing couples prom style? Then one light in an umbrella should be sufficient. Lap top is good, monitor is better if you want them to see and approve the image. AC power for the camera is better than battery, otherwise have plenty...cards as well. If you do not have several printers to daisy chain I do not recommend printing on the spot, it is long, tedious and things can go wrong.
Edited to add: OK, for couples and the groups you state one light with an umbrella is fine, I've done proms that way for decades and for various studios.Just make sure they are about 4 feet from the background and your light is up high.
