Can anyone help me with camera specs?
I'm interested in getting into photography as a serious hobby, and maybe even turn pro one day, but there's just one problem. I have NO idea what to look for as far as camera specs go for a high end digital camera.
I bought one recently, which is pretty good for macro shots but for landscapes it is pretty awful and it can't deal with sun glare or outdoor lighting very well. Also, when its fully zoomed in the picture quality is very low. What sort of specs would I be looking for to improve these things?
Money isn't really an object, I know a good camera and equipment will run me at least $700 and I'm ready to spend that kind of money, I just don't know what to spend it on.
What would be most helpful would be any kind of guide that details the names of specs/settings and exactly what they do and are used for, thank you all in advance.
Oh, it will cost you much more than $700 in the long run..
If you really plan on going pro one day, I would highly suggest investing in a Canon or Nikon DSLR because of their wide variety of lenses and other accessories. Any DSLR from either of those two brands will be very good choices.
Pick a budget, and choose a camera that fits under it. Once you find out what you like to shoot (through using the kit lens), that's when you should be buying another lens. As you get more experience shooting you may want more accessories for your camera like a tripod, battery grip, external flash, more lenses, etc. That's all up to you though. No one on here can truly tell you exactly what you should spend your money on, we only make suggestions.
If you're not sure how much to spend to start out, $500-$700 would be a good range. Here's what I would suggest (in no specific order):
1) Canon Rebel T3
2) Canon Rebel XS
3) Nikon D3100
4) Nikon D3000
It also doesn't hurt to do a little research yourself!
P.S. To get rid of the sun glare on your landscape photos, you can attach a UV attach onto your DSLR lenses.
