Finding a photographer to shoot engagement portraits in Kent

I thought that I would share this hot off the press little gem of a thing that we came across when we were planning our wedding and in particular the photography in Kent. I thought that it would be a really nice thing to have some photography taken of us both as a couple before our big day. We thought that we could gift some of the photographs away to our families and also get a pre wedding album to look back on in years to come.

The difficulty is that there are not many professional wedding photographers in Kent that are able to provide that service and we didn't really want to end up with one photographer shooting in Kent and another photographer to shoot the pre-wedding or as it is more commonly known the engagement portraits. Many wedding photographers are not portrait photographers and vice versa as we found. Also we found that many portrait photographers in Kent do not offer a wedding photography service.

We did eventually discover a great small company who would be able to do all of the photography for us at a really reasonable price. We had viewed a number of so called portrait studios and when I asking around I found that while their initial cost of the shoot was really cheap, they were very dear when it came to having prints made. Anyhow, the business we discovered are called Albums and Portraits Photography and are located in Ramsgate in Kent. Keith is their main photographer and has been a photographer for yonks. The business prides itself on being able to offer the photography that costomers require at a cost they can afford and they really live up to that claim.

They were able to offer us not just an on location session for our pre-wedding pictures but also the facilities of their home studio for some wonderful hi-key portraits of us both. I chose to make the most and so spent some time with Keith at a spectacular local beauty spot and then on the beach before going to their studio on another day (once we had washed the sand from our hair) for a really great session that made us feel like film stars. They also mentioned a family session in their studio, where we mightcome along with our parents and siblings etc and have a last family portrait together before we get married and fly to coop. Once we told our parents about that they were really up for it and that was sorted out with absolutely no bother at all. So at the end of the day we both ended with a great small photo album, containing some fantastic shots of both of us in some nice romantic settings and a great wall canvas for our new home. My parents ended up with a really nice framed portrait of us together for a last time which they are absolutely over the moon with and we all got to know the photographer who was to photograph the most special day of our lives. When the wedding day comes he will be like an old friend and not a complete stranger who we have only met briefly beforehand.

So to sum up I would not only absolutely recommend having a pre-wedding or engagement portrait shoot shot by the same person who is going to photograph your wedding in Kent but I would also highly recommend Keith at www.aweddingphotographerkent.com.
