How are ISO speeds in photography computed?
Is an ISO 200 twice as sensitive as ISO 100, ISO 800 twice as sensitive as ISO 400 ... and so on ? For shooting dark targets such as astronomical objects, will a picture taken at ISO400 require twice the amount of time to have similar brightness as another taken with an ISO800 (Assuming noise are not considered)?
The ISO number is equal the shutter speed needed on a sunny day at f16. So at f16, on a sunny day, using 400 ISO film, use a shutter speed of 1/400 of a second. If you had 100 ISO film, change either aperture to f8 or shutter speed to 1/100.
