Should i Start with D3000 or D90?
i own a Point and shoot. so im not 100% beginner in photography. not saying that im a pro at DLSRs. should i start with d3000 or d90? is d90 more complicated than d3000? ive never owned a dslr before, but this is my first. i learned everything from the internet. wikipedia/google..etc. iso, aperture, depth of field. all camera related. but my question,is the d90 more complicated to use than d3000?i wont be able to afford another body for years. so im really saving up for a d90..+good lenses in the future. this is my first pro dslr camera.
There are 3 major reasons and 4 minor reasons you would want a D90 over the D3000.
But first of all, let's clear something out first:
"is d90 more complicated than d3000?"
Yes.
"is the d90 more complicated to use than d3000?"
No. It just got more function you can use once you get better.

Which is why your purchase will be important, let me explains a little...
Major reasons to get D90 over D3000:
- You need to shoot faster. D90 has 4.5fps burst, 50% faster than D3000.
- You want to get creative with flash lighting. D90 have built in commander mode so you can use flashlight wirelessly. D3000 do not have this feature.
- You intend to purchase old 2nd hand Nikon AF-D lens to save money(or there is some lens you want but it's only available in AF-D, say, 85mm f/1.4). D90 can auto focus on these lens, D5000 cannot.
Minor reasons to get D90 over D3000:
- You want to shoot video. D90 has video mode, D3000 doesn't.
- You like big and clear LCD screen. D90 has a better LCD screen.
- You want to use a battery grip and shoot vertically. D3000 don't have any optional vertical grip
- You like to have a secondary LCD screen on top of the camera (hey! to some this is a deal breaker, old timers like to see camera settings on top, not on main LCD screen... personal preference though). D3000 do not have 2nd LCD screen.
If non of the above apply to you, just get the D3000, else, you'll sooner find the D3000 limiting and wanted to upgrade, but you will not have the money to do so...
Remember this... "i wont be able to afford another body for years", get the D90 if you think what I said applies to you, else there will be regrets ;~)
