What is the Best Photo Editing Software for Someone Just Starting Out?
I just enrolled with New York Institute of Photography (NYIP.com). I know I need to learn to create the "perfect" picture by using my manual settings on my camera vs. the auto mode (I have a Nikon D200), therefore, minimizing my need for photo editing. I also have heard and somewhat believe that Adobe Photoshop is the Best of the Best. However, at this point, I'm more interested in getting the "Natural Light" photo effects on portraits. Is Adobe Photoshop Elements a good place to start?
You can just download and try Adobe Photoshop Elements 9

or the full "gold standard" Photoshop CS5
