
F65 35mm SLR Camera, AF lens, aperture f22, viewfinder, looking for a great DOF entire sharp scene?
Ok I am so confused and lost at this point, I understand that the smaller the aperture the greater the depth of field such as f22
Through the viewfinder, should the human eye he able to see the entire view completely sharp, because my camera focuses on the subject but the background and the rest if the area appears blurry through the view finder. Does it matter whether the lens is on af or manual? Please could anyone explain to me in the clearest way possible in getting an

Everybody's already gone through the factors that control DOF (aperture, focal length, subject to camera distance).
Don't forget that when you look through the viewfinder, the camera meters 'wide open' (ie large aperture). This makes it easier for you to see what you're taking. The DOF will therefore be shallow, use the DOF preview button to see what the actual frame shot will be like. When you take the shot, the aperture will stop down to that selected.
