For pro photographers...what is the law with regards to taking photos of other people's property and then?
selling the picture or entering into a contest? Suppose I saw a great old barn and took a picture of it from the road. Am I supposed to get permission before I take the picture? What if I sell the picture without having gotten permission, am I obligated to the property owner to pay him? Also suppose I am taking pictures of street scenes, obviously there are going to be people in them, what is my obligations towards them? I was looking at a photography contest rules and regulations and it was up to the photographer to obtain releases etc but I'm not sure what specifically that meant. Can you give me some ideas about all of this.
Go to Danheller.com. His website is the best I have seen regarding your question. Also if you search "photography release" you can find lots of information
