Any ideas of what name to use for a freelance photography business?
I would love to do some extra freelance photography, but have yet to find a business name to use to market myself. I have debated the pros and cons, and have decided to use my name, or a variation of my name: Penelope G. Lolohea (Low-low-hay-uh, Tongan orig.).
My problem is that after an internet search, I found way too many "Penelope Photography" businesses than I would have liked, so that name is out the window (even though I adore my first name, and would have loved to use it). I would use my full name but most people cannot pronounce my last name, let alone spell, or remember it. I don't want to use my middle name, either, as it is a combination of two family member's names, and the spelling is a bit hard.
Any ideas? I would love to hear anything!!
Have you ever heard of Ettore Boiardi? He had the same problem that you have. Boiardi was quite proud of his Italian heritage. He sold his products under the brand name Chef Boy-Ar-Dee, allowing his American customers to pronounce his name properly.
It worked for him and I bet it would work wonderfully for you as well, so my suggestion is Touch of Lo-lo-haya Photography.
