Need help finding the name of this book?
I don't know if this is enough information, but:
About two years ago I was in the Strand Bookstore in NYC. I saw this book of photography, mainly dark pictures of rooms and streetlights at night, and of dilapidated scenery. I remember one photograph was of a naked woman lying on a mattress outside at night.
I wrote down the name somewhere, but have since lost it, and the title of the book was "When the Rose _____", or "______ the Rose". It was written by a man whose first name started with a G.
I know that it is almost impossible to find the title, but if you have any suggestions, please answer.
Oh my god, yes, it is called Beneath the Roses.
Thank you so much
Is it "Beneath the Roses" by Gregory Crewdson?
If you do a Google Image search, you can see some of the photographs from the book. There is one of a nude woman lying on a mattress outside at night, and the rest of the images sound like what you have described as well.
