how do i choose a photography backdrop and lighting?
hi everyone,
i have done photography outdoors, but since its winter and no one wants to go outside i need to know what kind of backdrops i need to purchase? of course i want black and white. so is there a specific type of material that photographers use? and instead of buying a backdrop stand can i use something else such as hanging it on a curtain rod?
and for the lighting, what should i purchase? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much

i dont like back drops (im not a great people shooter), i like a white wall, then i fire a gelled flash at said wall to give me any colour i desire, the only back drop i use is a black fabric i got from a fabric store for $5, i find clipping a rod to the base holds it tight as i dont like wrinkles in back drops,
lights: get 2 or 3 no name portable flash units, a trigger and 2 or three slaves, a soft box attachment or build your own difussion panels,
