Recently, I decided to try to make it as a professional artist. Where do I start?
I have been creating artwork in various kinds of media, from drawing and painting to glass-blowing and photography and now digital images. I have always wanted to work for myself and have decided to make a go of it as an artist. I'm not sure what field yet, but I have been doing alot with digital imagin since it really doesn' take much as far as raw materials. I am working on a wesite and have most of my work on www.Zazzle.com (under ElectricArt) but I don't know where to go from there.
Can anybody give me any advice?
The fractal art that I put up on Zazzle is just the begining of it, to get my feet wet and my name out there. I have ray-traced artwork also. My question wasn't really about the digital artwork though. More the actual 'real' artwork. Like glass sculpture and drawings/paintings.
create your own website and put all yur work pictures. make a gallery sorta thing. hire a place doesnt have to be expensive, put your work neatly and try to do an exhibition. invite people you know, advertise in a newspaper, or any cheap media. make banners, give out brochure....think it as an investment. untill and unless people don't know about you, how will you ever be able to sell your stuff. advertise your website as well in such manner!
