What artistic movements influenced portrait photography ?

Hi, I have to do an assignment on the artistic movements that influenced photography, in my field that would be portrait photography but I have no clue where to start, which artistic movement would have influenced portrait photography. If I have that I can start with my assignment. If anyone has some more information PLEASE help me.
