Photography Aperture Shutter Speed

February 5th, 2011 by admin

photography aperture shutter speed
does anybody know what the Aperture to shutter speed equation?

hello, i am planning to start some extremely long exposures with my "bulb" feature. I would like to do some time lapse photography. (160sec?)
and i believe these times and setting would out measure my light meter in camera. does anybody know how to calculate these?

"aperture to shutter speed equation" - There is no such animal.

Time lapse photography is a series of photographs rather than a single long exposure.
For instance photographing a flower blooming. You would set up the camera to take a picture every 1,5,10 minutes (whatever is required).

a long exposure is exactly that, you set the aperture on whatever you want (smaller being better for long exposure) and the shutter for as long or short as you want.
For instance getting light trails or "smoothing" out water etc.

Your camera meter has nothing really to do with it when you are using bulb or long exposures.

A lot of (most) long exposures are trial and error until you become experienced at this.
