Canon EOS Rebel Xti 400d stock photography?

Hi, im new to photography, and i wanted to get my first camera, i have a really good deal on a Canon Rebel 400d set with a 18 - 55mm lens, im looking to do stock photography of people and nature would this be a good choice?

Wait--the rest of the "package" is junk. For example,

1 Gig memory card can be bought for $20 or so.

Battery charger (it comes with one already).

Cables.. they come with the camera.

Shoulder strap.. that, too.

Manuals.. SAME here..

p.s. I hardly think they need to say that the "original box" is included.
