Presenting… the ATC5K Action Cam. With the ability to transfer digital film and images directly to MAC or PC, or even to display via a television unit, this camera scores high on convenience for adrenalin junkies, whichever sport they choose. The ATC5K Helmet Cam is pretty tough, with a rubberised case which is both waterproof and heavy-duty. As a result it’s suitable for use in a number of extreme situations, from white-water rafting to mountain biking and snowboarding.
One of the clever things about this camera is its versatility; you can attach it to all kinds of equipment and surfaces including rafts, helmet and bike handlebars to make sure you don’t miss any of the action. There’s even a silicon head strap, and a mini tripod to enable the unit to be used as a webcam; the camera can also be anchored in suction mounts for autosports use. The ATC 5000 Helmet Cam still offers us over two hours’ recording with the ability to accept a 4GB SD card. This unit is deceptively small and neat, given its durability, at 11cm long and a paltry 260g in weight. The ATC 5K Camera is incredibly simple to use, offering one-touch recording and effortless download. The ATC 5000 Helmet Cam offers a number of new facilities which were not available in previous models.
Gone is the drab black exterior casing, replaced by a hardwearing rubber and plastic cover in funky metallic blue. The ATC5K can also now be used as a regular camera, with the ability to capture still images, and its wider angle lens ensures footage is of the highest possible quality. Most impressive, though, are the introduction of an infrared remote control facility, offering a truly hands free experience; and the addition of a 1.5” LCD screen, offering instant preview and playback as well as effortless positioning of the camera for optimum filming. You’ll get a good 5 hours’ use per charge out of the Li-Ion batteries supplied with the ATC 5K Camera, which also offers a choice of three different resolution settings. All in all, this is a terrific product, offering great value for money and versatility. Included with the camera itself are a remote control unit, Li-Ion batteries and charger, manual, installation software and everything you need to attach the unit to your equipment of choice- all that’s left to do is kick back and enjoy this fantastic product.
