Kid Photography Contest Rules

September 6th, 2010 by admin

Photography contest, I have a question?

The rules say
"If the photograph contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the Photograph, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photograph, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the photograph in the manner set forth in these Official Rules without additional compensation."
If I enter a picture I took of a zoo animals is that legal seeing as it's not MY animal, same question applies to a picture I have of my neighbors cat.
THANK YOU!!!!!!

Please see this if you want more information.

Your use of photography from the zoo can depend on the zoo's photography policies. Some restrict commercial and promotional use of photographs taken on their premises. Call or check their website for photography policies. If they "prohibit" it, ask for the number of the person or office authorized to grant permission. They will likely gladly grant permission for you to enter them in a kids' photography contest.

As for your neighbor's cat, snap away.
