What are some good photography cameras with a self timer?
I enjoy taking pictures and i wanna be a photographer when i get older. and I would like to find a decent photography camera. That includes a self timer so..yeah. And if the camera is under 500 bucks that'd be great. Please comment!!! 
Do you want an SLR or a point and shoot camera? Most cameras have a self-timer now, and many of the SLRs even have the option to shoot with a remote. If you're interested in photography a (relatively) inexpensive SLR will allow you to learn the basics of photography and play with things you can't on a point 'n' shoot camera. On the other hand, the Point 'n' shoots are compact, less expensive and often still take awesome photos.
My recommendation is to find a camera shop local to you and tell the sales people what you're looking for. They'll be able to show you a wide variety of cameras, and you'll be able to play with them a little and figure out what you like. Someone else's favorite camera may not work out for you. Do some reading and make your decision gradually. Remember that a camera does represent a significant financial investment, and a hasty purchase may really disappoint you later. You may want to visit a camera shop several times before you decide to buy. The sales people shouldn't try to pressure you (Too much, anyway. Do remember that selling you stuff is their job, but don't be afraid to say "No.") into buying something right away.
That said, as far as cameras go, I have a Nikon d40x that I've been happy with for several years. It is available used under $500, and it does have a self-timer function.
