Do I tip my photographer if she is doing my wedding free for promotional purposes?
My photographer did my engagement photos and is doing my wedding. She is a videographer and is wanting to get her portfolio built up for doing photography as well. She is doing my wedding at a discount of 1200.00. Since I am not paying for anything but the pictures, do I tip her?
in general you don't tip the owner of a business...this goes for hair salons, tattoo parlors, and photographers
unless she's working for a company she should not be tipped
if she is working for someone else, wait until you get the pics and then decide if she deserves a tip
i don't know about your area, but $1200 is not a discount if you're not getting an album...
i'm only getting a cd and printing rights (you have to get the rights to print 'cause otherwise the photographer owns the copyrights & you'd be breaking the law printing them)
we're paying 1450 but we're also paying for an assistant, if we didn't get the assistant it would be 1250...
also we only have to pay 1/2 in advance and the other 1/2 when we get the disk so we don't have to worry about the problems 4ree listed...she won't have all of the money until we get our stuff!
