What helps you get into a good university?
I'm 14 (in year 9) and am studying for my GCSE's. These are my predicted GCSE's.
English A*A*
Spanish B (but plan to focus a lot on it to improve that).
Business OCR3 Dist (I plan to drop this for either engineering, art or media).
History A*
RE A*
Maths A
Science AA
ICT A
My hobbies are reading, writing my own stories and poetry, skiing and photography. I plan to study History or English when I'm older (or both); my favorite topics of history are the Resistance in WWII, and the time of the Druids.
But, what can I add to help me get into a good university? My grades are quite good, but I what to know what I can do to improve my chances of getting into I good one. For example, my friend's parent advised me to learn a musical instrument and join more clubs.
You need to keep up your grades and even take some Honors and AP classes. It would help to join some clubs and maybe join a sport. Volunteer work also looks really good on your transcript. Some colleges will also consider work experience (like if you held down a job for 2 or 3 years).
