Tips for concert/festival photography?

I have an Olympus E-500 with lens 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 and lens 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5 and i also have a film Nikon 50mm camera with lens that goes up to 210mm. I've never taken photos for a concert because well, they never allow my DSLR in, haha. But I actually got asked to go to Camp Bisco (in NY) its a 3 day festival. I'm wondering what are some tips to take into account when taking concert photography, especially in low light and all with the kind of camera I have? I ordered some more batteries and memory cards. I know this concert is like an electronic type where there will be tons of light shows. Hmm, any tip, or anything would be helpful. How should the WB be? Iso? aperture? which setting? use flash? etc?

The low light challenge will be for your lens' and not the camera. A "fast" lens is better suited for low light. Having said that, you can still use what you have if you practice. Go out at night and practice shooting cars and city lights to find where your camera has the best results. Use the highest ISO you can live with (how much grain is too much to your liking). Shoot under several lighting situations (take notes if you have to, for example; use a 3 level system, keep notes for very dark light, medium light, and ok light. Try to get close to the subject you are photographing because when you zoom the aperture will close and thus let less light in. Go ahead and use the "on camera" flash if you are close (once again practice this to find out how close is too close for your liking). The flash will have a very limited effective range but if you are close enough it should work as a fill light. Once on location position yourself where you might have similar lighting conditions that you practiced on. The key to photography is to know your gear and to be able to anticipate the results and then bieng able to adjust for the result you want. To do this you must shoot, shoot, shoot a lot.
