How can I get discounts on Sony Camera Equipment?
If possible...
At this point in time, i'm only a student, and am low on funds. I've signed up for Calumet's student program, and looked for a Sony student program and actually found one. However, the "program" does not apply to photography equipment.
I was wondering if there was a sponsorship program, and how I would go about getting sponsored, or, if there are other means to get discounts, ie. signing up for WPPI or PPA (I don't know if you even get discounts for Sony equipment, I just know you get discounts)

And Tim, I already have a Sony camera, so that's why i'm adamant on Sony 
As a rule camera makers do not have student discounts and most camera stores already seriously discount the stuff they offer. When I worked in a camera store a couple of camera makers had what they called a personal purchase plan for store employees (after all, it really helps sales when a prospective customer asked a salesman what camera he used) rules were that you had to use it yourself and could not resell it for a stated period of time and oftentimes it would have your name engraved on it (cool, yes?). I didn't partake often since I could often buy the very same thing at K-mart for less than through the store and limited my purchases to more exotic items, fast lenses and stuff.
Sponsorship is for winners, why would a company back an unknown? What you are looking for is more properly called a grant, there are some available, competition is fierce.
Discounts from professional organizations like PPA are usually like reduced rates for group insurance, things like that, very few equipment discounts.
Do what I do and buy used, there are lots of students that unload their gear every few months in their never ending (and unfulfilled) quest for the "best" camera, their stuff can be had cheap - especially at the end of the semester when they no longer have "bean" money.
