Professional photography vs. Digital Cameras?

or non professional, what is the difference in the quality of pictures?/ Would professional photography capture me the way I see myself in the mirror?

In the hands of a pro digital just can't compare to film. But lots of pro photogs use digital because its easier in many ways and produces instant results for the impatient me, Me, ME generation.
A mirror is a very poor representation of you. Light does weird things in a mirror not the least of which is producing a double image because it has two reflective elements - the glass surface and the mirrored backing. A pro photog uses much different lights than what you find in your bathroom or bedroom. This also makes you look different than in the mirror.
