Photography - The Real Art

The lady artist is a working artist along with being the gallery director of a local art center. The resident of Hempfield Township discovered her talents in high school, majored in art at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has been active since 1970 in the local art club. The art center has her work put up often. Oils and Pastels along with Silk Screen printing are her work forte. More expert paintings information is located at pet portrait artists.  Member from a different art club invited her recently to demonstrate landscape pastel painting from a photograph. Her view is that beginners should not limit their work only to photographs. Anyone starting up should go outside to see the nuances of light and shadow.  Working outside allows painters to absorb details, sketch the scene and click pictures, later on they can refer to them. She normally does it like this. She is able to create composite landscapes using several photographs. This technique becomes very useful when the customer asks for elements that aren't present in just one photograph.  If the painter does not like something in the photograph, he can avoid it while painting the picture, even though photography is an art form on its own. You must decide what you want as the most important part of your painting. It is easier to decide how the painting would look like when it is finished by using a photograph. Obtain further advice on portrait painting online and the subject of paintings.  Using an enlarged photocopy of a photo she took during the fall at Slippery Rock for her model, she creates a pastel portrait while explaining her technique. To stop the frame from covering up any part of the painting, the drawing does not happen edge to edge. She achieves layering in colors by painting on the wrong side of the pastel sheet since that is less textured.  Logs and branches rising from the water are evoked by blues and reds. Her photographs are added with bits of red to enhance certain sections of her painting. She is very carefully when she exploits the fact that pastels are as close as she can get to using pure pigment.  It is a wise idea to stop and think about the color values Using too much light too soon would not be useful. The white areas do not need conserving, like in watercolors, and darker shades can be layered with lighter ones when painting with pastels. Feeling your way with the pastels is important.  Special care should be paid to the color range. Without having to mix different shades, one can get the right color by using today's wide range of colors. If we do not like the results achieved, we can wipe the color and start over again when painting with pastels. The medium is easy going. tiont
