Any tips for aspiring photographers?
My father gave me his old photography books when he noticed two years ago I had a passion for photography. He's teaching me the basics of photography with film and digital cameras soon, since it was a hobby of his before and during my childhood. I was wondering if anyone had any tips they would like to share with me?

I'm taking a photography course next year. 
Having a passion for something and doing it is two different things. As a hobby, have funa nd make mistakes but as an art, get ready to accept the BEST AND THE WORSE in critique.
Their's an old saying that says, "Talk good or bad about me, but NEVER STOP TALKING about me". You can apply this to images also.
If this is your calling, start practicing right now, not tomorrow. And to save on developing, buy a digital and download everything to your computer and post it on the net.
You will receive critique soon enough or just post them here and get ready to be bombarded . Forget the good critique, you want to know the bad ones. Otherwise, you won't advance and keep making the same mistake.
