Looking for a Small Digital Camera that takes Pictures Quickly Like an SLR. Suggestions?
I tried a few out at the local photography store, but I would like suggestions.
All automatic cameras, compact or otherwise have shutter lag. That's the time the camera is using to focus and expose to give you a photo. Understand that some cameras are faster than others and usually they're more expensive because of higher levels of technology. However, shutter lag is a part of life with automatic cameras. Keep in mind also that the more light you offer a camera, say
bright sun, the shorter the lag time will be. In low light the camera will take longer and at times can't focus so it won't give you a shot at all - just the nature of automatic cameras.
That said, I own and recommend the Canon Rebel XS, an slr. It offers superb photos and build. It's easy to learn and operate if you read the book.
