Beginner DSLR photography help?
Hi. I love photography and over the past couple years I've explored as much as I could my cheap point-and-shoot digital camera. I've some experience with Photoshop as well. My dream is to be able to take those stunning pictures on magazine covers and wild life.
Can anyone give me some advice on how I can learn about professional photography (books, online classes, etc.).
I'm saving up to buy a DSLR. Any suggestions on a good DSLR?

A good starter dSLR is Nikon's D-50 (though i dont think they make that model anymore... now its a D-60 i think) or the Olympus e-volt e500 (not sure they make that one either... its now the evolt e510)... anyway they are similar in price, but the olympus has more megapixels and comes w/ a two lens kit. (i have this one and i love it.) It is also smaller than the nikon, which is good for me because i have small hands. Other than those differences, i noticed that the colors were a bit different in the two cameras and there seemed to be less settings w/ the nikon (my boyfriend has the nikon, so i've gotten a feel for both). Nikon does have better editing software, but if you've already got photoshop, this wouldnt really matter anyway.
Also, My aunt just got the nikon d200 and she had a lot of trouble with it (its her second SLR)... so much that she had to pay for a class to teach her to use it... if you want one thats easy to use go with the nikon or the olympus... also, there is a canon one that is comperable, but i have never used it and im not sure which one it is, so i really cant comment on it.

best advice, just practice... the more you experiment, the better you get.
