I am trying to get started in photography...?
Just as a hobby. I would like to take pictures of my baby girl, and my neices and nephew playing sports and so on....maybe even dabbing in some nature photos eventually too. I know Im not ready to make a decision on what camera to get yet until Im fully ready. (The Canon 550d has grabbed my interest so far, so please leave your thoughts on that) But I feel the best way for me to get started is to read some books to learn as much as possible and figure out if this is really for me before paying so much money for a camera. Does anyone have any books they could recommend to someone who dosent really have to much knowlodge on the topic. Im not sure if I should read something that is about digital photography in general or something more geared towards potrait photography. I guess Im a little nervous to get a camera and then not have a clue how to use all the features. So whats the best way to learn? Books, Classes? Thanks for your help! I appreciate it
The T2i is an excellent choice I started out with the T1i and it was an also excellent choice. The T2i is a great still camera and also has the ability to take awesome videos (which is why I wish I started out with the t21) If you also feel you might want great videos, for about $100 more I would go with the t3I, its articulating screen is a big plus for video and I love it very much to document my shoots. You dont have to go to a photography school to become an advanced photographer or even a professional depending on how far you want to go. Watch tutorials on you-tube of all aspects of photography, dont just watch videos of one user, watch them all, even if its the about the same topic (ISO, etc) you will learn what everyone thinks of it and you can put together what you like and what of course sounds correct. I have easily watched over 4,000 different videos of photography, yea it takes time but it teaches you EVERYTHING!!! and I never stopped watching. Also of course, read tutorials on sites etc. Ok, I hope this helps. Good luck with your hobby in photography, here are a just a couple of links that will help you out, dont stop there, keep learning. Thanks. Tom.
