What should I major in, and what college?
I'm a junior in high school from NYC, and I'd really like to do something along the lines of Magazine Journalism, specifically for Fashion. I also like photography, and digital design.
I'd like to stay nearby, but I'm up for anything. Just not too far away... I like the idea of liberal arts schools because I'll be able to have a closer connection with the teachers, and that'll help me study better. I also like meeting new people, and universities sound pretty cool too.
Overall, I'm pretty undecided. I was thinking NYU with some fashion classes and a major of journalism or english, but I'm not quite sure.

I do not want to go to FIT, mainly because I feel it is too generalized in Fashion. Is there a good perhaps, liberal arts school with a nice small neighborhood where I can major in Magazine Journalism/English?

While it is in LA, it does have some info on what you want to do. What you should look for is finding a journalist in the Field of work you would like to do and then see if they have a work email. So if you like the Fashion journalist from 17 you can email them asking about their job. It can help you decide and get a better view about each job.
Seeing as how you want to stay local, try private colleges or colleges that are big on your course like if New York has a fashion university apply there.
