35 mm film help please?? i will award best answer?
I have an Asahi Pentax K100 that uses 35 mm film.
First, where can I buy black and white film for this, and second, where would I develop/make prints of this film?
I was in a photography class at school last semester where the teacher provided film and there was a darkroom where we could develop our film and make our own prints. However, I have since graduated. I am going to Europe this summer and would like to be able to take more "artistic" photos than a digital camera could offer.
Thanks!
i will also be taking my digital camera, but that's for quick shots. it's not a fancy digital camera and i am no pro at photography.
i will be going to france, germany, and austria
Any type of 35mm film will work with your camera.
If you're okay with shopping online, you can get ahold of every 35mm film being produced currently. If you shop at the wrong places, yes you can end up spending more money for film than necessary. Some favorite online shops for film photographers are:
B&H Pro Photo-Video-Audio in NY: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?ci=2545&N=4294548524+4289268858+4289268857 (You can sort by brand, type etc on the left)
Adorama, which is also in NY: http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=category&cat1=Film%20%26%20Darkroom (Links for film are at the bottom. Sorting will be on the right once you select a type)
Freestyle Photo in Cali: http://www.freestylephoto.biz/ (Links are on the left)
You can also buy film from Kodak directly, ttp://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/en_US/list/Film/categoryID.40676400(They will add sales tax when you buy unlike the others. You need to include all online purchases when you do your taxes every year if you're not charged tax when buying online)

Depending on what part of Europe you visit, there are several labs available to you. Where are you going, if you don't mind me asking? If you'd rather not disclose this information, I hope, for your own sake, that you're handy with Google search.
Good Luck
Edit: Deep Blue is right about the ability to achieve 'artistic' photo's with either medium, but he/she cannot deny that there are is a certain magic only film can achieve for its users. If you just like film, please use film. I would, personally.

Edit (2):
Ugh, I just remembered something. Right now, the US Dollar is weaker than the Euro and other currencies. If you go there, processing your film can be quite costly compared to just sending home. What many people do is just send the film back to a lab in the US to have it developed and waiting for them. If you are, say, in France, you can use the la Poste (USPS counterpart) to buy flat rate shipping boxes and ship it back to Dwayne's Photo in Kansas with the correct order form(s):
If you're shooting c-41 color film: http://www.dwaynesphoto.com/common/newforms/Color_Film_Devloping_Prints.pdf
B&W film: http://www.dwaynesphoto.com/common/newforms/BW_Developing_Prints.pdf
Slides: http://www.dwaynesphoto.com/common/newforms/Slide_Film_Processing.pdf
If possible, use packaging protection (e.g. bubble wrap), let them know what's inside, and to mark the box with a "do not xray' label. I've never had any problems with Xrays when going through walk-thru scanners, but sum people have their unprocessed film damaged by this.
Edit (3):
IF you still want it all done overseas. I found labs in France..
