Concert Photography Portfolio Online

March 2nd, 2011 by admin

basic photography questions?

Which is better, Nikon D3000 or Nikon D5000? I'm purchasing a brand new camera in a week or so but I can't decide between the two. I want this camera for concerts and shows and band promotion stuff. Pro's and cons of both cameras?

Another question: I'm going to make portfolios but I thought it would be best to have an online portfolio as well. I do not want to spend money at this time, so what is a good website for online portfolios? I want it to look professional.

Thanks :) I appreciate the help + tips

I have to agree with the previous answer and say the D5000. this website has a godd review of both http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/search/nikon

as for the website:
There are a few different places you can use or try in fact I would use a few at once especially if you want to sell any of them.

try free sites like

http://www.flickr.com

http://www.picasa.web.google.com

http://www.ephotozine.com

http://www.imagefly.info

http://www.eyefetch.com

http://www.imgload.com

http://www.pbase.com

there is also

http://www.redbubble.com

You could always start your own blog with someone like www.blogger.com and download a photoblog template from somewhere like www.bloggertemplates.com (they have some great photography templates)

You could have the free account with blogger and the free blogger ID or you could buy your own domain name though blogger for $10 so instead of having a web address like www.mybestpics.blogspot.com it would look like www.enjoymyphotos.com and it is still hosted free with blogger. To promote it you could then add your web site address as a signature to your emails, your facebook page etc

The blog is a good idea if you want to be a photographer and it's easier than having a full website especially when you are starting out. And it looks more professioal than sending someone to the likes of picasa or flickr.
