Must Have for Photography?
I have two questions. Can a professional photographer or someone who is really serious about it tell me what i need? Such as, lighting, reflectors, backdrops, ect. I am also 13, so something cheap, my range is about 100-about 300. I want to kinda of do emotional pictures, maybe portraits and some landscape, my range is wide, so i need people who do a lot of things, or a lot of people for one thing. Also, what ARE reflectors used for? I think i know, but i'm not sure, is it to reflect the natural light onto someones face or something?
First all you really need is a fully adjustable camera and at least one lens.
With it you will be able to learn how to expose and compose your photos.

I use reflectors when I only have one light source (the sun or a single incandescent lamp) and need to reflect some of the light into the shadow area of my subject. For dramatic shots, just use one light source.
If you, really, really want to do a little shooting with artificial light, but in a price range that will not use all your lunch money, you can buy a 500 watt work light from Home Depot and about four yards of white, black and light blue yardage from a place like Wal-Mart or Jo-Ann's ($2 a yard) With four yards of each colour, you will be able to shoot your friends from head to foot without losing the background. For fill, you can use a 3x4 foot piece of foam core, I think Jo-Ann's sells it too.
Artificial light is something most photographers do not use until they are at least a year into their photography classes, so I suggest you spend most of your time learning how to get perfect exposures and compose all your images so you don't later have to chop any of the photo off to make a good composition..
