- Any digital camera that you are going to give to kids needs to be easy to use. You can find digital cameras which have lots of different functions and features but they won't come cheap; however buying a camera with so many different functions might not be a great idea for a beginner as it could overwhelm them. Look for something that is straightforward and allows some of the most basic settings and functions.

 

- It makes sense to choose a camera that is going to be strong and will last a long time. When it comes to toys and other possessions that children have, they do tend to treat them in a rough manner as they are not aware of how to be careful with some items so remember this when choosing a digital camera.

 

- You might want to choose one of the digital cameras that have been specifically designed for children. These not only tend to be easy to use but they are also durable and fun to use.

 

- Consider your child's hands when buying a digital camera and make sure it will be suitable. Children's digital camera's are usually easier for them to manage as the controls are easier to locate and the buttons etc are normally bigger.

 

- Battery life is also something worth considering when you are buying a digital camera for kids. They tend to use them a lot and this can eat through batteries. It might be better if you look for a digital camera that has rechargeable batteries.
