Just bought a new Canon PowerShot A560...?
And for the first time I'm actually reading the instruction manual to something...my eyes and brain hurt already and I'm only on page 10.
So here's my question: Under the heading "Preventing Malfunctions" it says "avoid strong magnetic fields...Never place the camera in close proximity to electric motors or other equipment generating strong electromagnetic fields. Exposure to strong magnetic fields may cause malfuntions or corrupt image data."
Ok, here's my actual question: Does that include the scanner things you walk through at airports? Because I'm going to Hawai'i in December and really don't want to put my camera in my big luggage, but don't want it ruined in the x-ray thing either...aren't they scanning EVERYTHING that goes on a plane nowadays anyway?
I think I can offer my help, I don't believe the scanners at the airports can cause your camera that damage. I'm using canon digital camera and I,ve travelled with it several time and nothing like that sort has happened to it. In any case you can ask the personnel at the airport when you got to the place. thank you.
