I want to setup a home recording studio?
Hi,
I have finally decided to give this whole youtube thing a go, and want to start laying some of my tracks down but have not got a clue what equipment/software to buy . I want to spend about £500 maybe more on everything needed and already have a Good PC and video camera so they are off the list.
I will be using a Washburn EA18 sometimes in an amp which i will also need suggestions on buying, and then just acoustic which will be the majority of the time.
So from what i have read i think i will need a microphone, software, amp and anything else you suggest.

In addition to what is above, make your 'studio' as acoustically neutral as possible.
I built some free-standing wooden frames which are covered in a tough hard wearing cloth with dense foam between each side of the frame. It absorbs a lot of the sound reflections and gives a better quality to the recordings. You can angle them for best effect and store them flat against a wall when they're not needed.
An old pair of tights stretched several times over a bent metal coat hanger make a half decent pop-filter for the mic
