Best Photography Camera?
I'm getting into some photography, so I'd like some beginners tips.
What would be a good beginners camera for conceptual and still-life photos? My price range is about 100-300 dollars.
Also, some good and free photo editing software wouldn't hurt either!
Camera - The Panasonic FZ35 or the older version FZ28. It is a mega zoom camera plus it has great wide angle so it is very versatile. It will be plenty for you to start and you will end up with some great photographs. Unfortunately the DSLR are still out of the price range. With the panny you will be able to do alot of the same things the DSLR can do but it has a smaller sensor so low light or night photography will not be as good. I have both but keep my panasonic with me all the time. If I do end up taking night photos I just take multiple shots and then overlay them on top of each other to reduce the noise.
Software - Download Gimp. It is a great program and will let you do alot of creative things. Learning to use good photo software will make you a better photographer.
Sites... My favorite sites are www.dpreview.com and photo.net There are forums on both (plus you can check the panasonic forums to get an idea of what these cameras are capable of.. I also use www.flickr.com and post my photos to groups. It is a great way to learn. Good luck in your photography.
